De Barjac Prize

Since 2018, the foundation has decided to support a young researcher each year by awarding him the new "de Barjac" prize in honor of Professor Huguette de Barjac, renowned biologist and benefactor of the F4LABMED foundation.

 Goals

  • cardiovascular diseases
  • neurology
  • immunology
  • gastro-intestinal diseases
  • infectious diseases

 

Amount

A prize of 5'000 CHF is awarded each year for the best publication of a biomarker translational medical research project in one of the aforementioned fields.

Right of participation

Any researchers aged under 35 as of December 31 of the current year.

Research work

The submitted work must have been accepted for publication or have been published during the last two years and have been produced mainly in Switzerland.

Jury

The board of the foundation awards the prize according to the conclusions of the scientific committee, whose judgment is free. It reserves the right not to award a prize, if none of the works submitted to the scientific committee of the corresponding field meets the merit criteria established or if the number of quality work is insufficient. The decision of the scientific commitee is unquestionable.

 

Awards

The work is presented at an official award ceremony at the Congress of the Swiss Society of Clinical Chemistry in November.

Trophy

A bronze trophy with the logo of the foundation was created by the artist Ute Bauer, sculptor in Geneva.
